As of October 9th, 2019, we became aware that a number of popular bots used for playing music in Discord servers are no longer.

Listen, game, chat, and party all at once with Discord.

You can also see and play what your friends are listening to. You can even listen together with Listen Along (Premium only).

Get started

  1. On desktop, download the Discord app and open it.
  2. Click Connections in the menu on the left.
  3. Click Spotify.
  4. A web page will open to connect. If you’re not already logged into Spotify on the device, you’re directed to log in or sign up first.
  5. Click OKAY to confirm.

Once you’ve connected Spotify to your Discord account, you can choose to display what you’re listening to in real time on your profile.

To disconnect

  1. Click Connections in the menu on the left of the Discord desktop app.
  2. Click Spotify.
  3. Click X in the top left of the green box.
  4. Click Disconnect to confirm.

Listen Along

For: Premium

Turn your chat room into a party with your friends! Here’s how to listen together.

Note: It’s not possible to Listen Along when voice chatting. Try text chatting instead.

  1. On desktop, open the Discord desktop app.
  2. Click someone that’s Listening to Spotify from your list of friends on the right.
  3. Click the Listen Along icon .

Note: If you Listen Along with a friend who has Spotify Free, you’ll hear silence when they hear adverts.

Sometimes it would allow me to modify the file and save it, other times it would freeze. Preview always freezes (beachball) whenever I try to modify and save a.pdf. Wget freezes on mac for pdf. I've tried resetting the preferences for Preview (as per ) and have also tried resetting the PRAM and SMC.Initially I noticed the problem when I was trying to add bookmarks and save the file, but I tested doing other modifications (highlighting, adding text, etc) and get the same result. One weird thing I've noticed is that I first started getting this problem a few weeks ago but it was only intermittently happening.

Questions/Suggestions/Bug Reports

Please read the Suggested/Planned Features List before suggesting a feature. If you'd like to suggest changes to how the bot functions, recommend more customization options, or report bugs, feel free to either open an Issue on this repository, or join my Discord server. (Note: I will not accept any feature requests that will require additional API keys, nor any non-music features). If you like this bot, be sure to add a star to the libraries that make this possible: JDA and lavaplayer

Editing

This bot (and the source code here) might not be easy to edit for inexperienced programmers. The main purpose of having the source public is to show the capabilities of the libraries, to allow others to understand how the bot works, and to allow those knowledgeable about java, JDA, and Discord bot development to contribute. There are many requirements and dependencies required to edit and compile it, and there will not be support provided for people looking to make changes on their own. Instead, consider making a feature request (see the above section). If you choose to make edits, please do so in accordance with the Apache 2.0 License.
